Human Composting: An Ecological Death Care Option

Recompose is an ecological death care company based in Seattle, Washington. Recompose is the first full-service funeral home to offer the process of natural organic reduction, which gently transforms humans into soil after death. In this presentation, Recompose customer and communications manager Anna Swenson will cover the science behind the NOR process, the history of bringing Recompose to life, and the importance of greener death care options.

Anna Swenson is the customer and communications manager at Recompose, where she leads marketing, public policy, and community outreach for the green death care organization. She is originally from the Phoenix area and enjoys house plants, tide pools, and cooking.
