The Foundation promotes quality end-of-life care by supporting research into novel approaches to hospice patient support. The Foundation has supported a music therapy grant, which provided funding for iPods, earphones and music downloads to create an auditory environment to bring comfort to patients.
The Foundation is currently supporting a grant that emphasizes non-pharmacological interventions for agitated patients with dementia. Interventions include weighted blankets which provide comfort, shower ponchos which provide modesty, toys and games which provide a sense of meaning and contribution, and many others.
