Casa de la Luz Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation established in 2000
whose mission is to acquire and dispense funds in support of end of
life care. The Foundation is managed by a caring, committed Board of Directors that oversees the disbursement of
funds that are donated, bequeathed, or acquired through fundraising
activities.
The Foundation is committed to three objectives in support of its
mission: it provides funding of supplemental support for hospice
patients and loved ones during end of life care, educates the
community about end of life care, and supports research concerning
end of life care.
Fulfilling the Mission
One of
the important ways the Foundation fulfills its mission is through
supplemental financial support of the Casa de la Luz Hospice
Community Bereavement Program. The Foundation believes this program
is vital because of the many services it provides to help families
and friends cope with the loss of a loved one. Please visit www.casahospice.com for
more information on the Bereavement Program.
Educating the community about end of life care is part of our
mission to which we remain deeply committed. The Foundation is
pleased to host an annual conference that
explores end of life issues. Past keynote speakers have included Ira Byock, MD, Grammy award-winning composer Gary Malkin, Kathleen Dowling Singh, Joan Halifax, PhD, Alan Wolfelt, PhD, and Rachel Naomi Remen, MD. |

End of life decisions don't have to be
confusing. Casa de la Luz Foundation provides free of charge
a document called Five Wishes that helps individuals
decide how they want to be treated should they become
seriously ill.
The 6th Annual National Healthcare Decisions Day is April 16th, 2013. Request your copy of Five Wishes Today, or fill it out online. Visit NHDD.org for more information.
